Cottage. C16. Timber framing combining post and truss and cruck construction with painted brick infill panels; hipped thatch roof; brick ridge stack. Two-cell baffle-entry plan house possibly containing an open hall originally. One storey and attic, three tiers of square panels. Irregular fenestration: small C20 windows to ground floor left and right, and small attic dormer to the right. Central C20 door and small thatched porch. Single-storey painted brick extension to the right with tall brick end stack and C20 casement. Exposed cruck truss to the left-hand gable, with curved blades carrying one pair of purlins, terminated by a saddle which formerly supported a half-hipped roof.
Interior: central curved cruck truss. Built against the north side of the central truss is the chimney stack which has a timber bressumer which carries a chamfered spine beam. Chamfered cross beam in the south bay, probably on insertion. The north gable is of post and truss construction and has a queen strut roof truss.
