Details
The following buildings shall be added to the list
NORTHLEACH WITH EASTINGTON EAST END SP 1114 8/71 (north side) GV Northleach Hospital II Union workhouse, later hospital now (1989) disused. 1836 (dated) built by Geo. Wick & Son of Witney. Cotswold stone ashlar and rubble, Welsh slate roofs. Standard cruciform plan with crosswings to end of each wing and a central tower; administration block and guardian's house fronting road, wards behind. Mostly two storeys but three in part. Roofs hipped over each section.
Street elevation. Plain classical treatment. Ten bays, 3:4:3, the centre set slightly forward and with a pediment over. First floor band. Central 6 panel door with bracketed hood. All windows are 12 pane sashes. Eaves gutter on paired brackets, low pitched roof with two stone stacks.
Rear wings of squared coursed rubble. Some original casement windows in elliptical heads, particularly on spine but many replacements including some steel ones in altered openings. Various modern additions and fire escapes etc not of special interest.
Interiors originally very plain now partly altered. A small Union Workhouse retaining all its buildings and with only superficial alteration.
