Nos 12 to 14 (consec) (The Queen's Head Inn) ST 9961 1/190 9.4.54.

2. Surviving part of a small C18 terrace of which Nos 15, 16 and 17 have been demolished. Nos 12 and 13: 2 storeys red brick. Gable end slate roof, eaves band. 1 coupled sash window each, glazing bars intact with flat moulded stone surrounds and block sills. Door of No 12 recessed, 6 panels, 2 glazed, flat stone hood on cut brackets over. Door of No 13 recessed 4 modern panels set in stone surround. No 14 (The Queen's Head Inn) is also of 2 storeys red brick but with grey headers, brick band between storeys. Central door of 6 panels under fine Doric porch of 2 free standing columns to front, pilasters to wall, entablature and pediment, all of painted stone. 2 windows to right hand, recessed, sash, glazing bars intact in moulded stone surrounds, To left of door a 2 storey canted brick bay of 3 similar windows, flat roofed with small cornice. To left of bay: 3 light casement on lst floor and coupled window ground floor, both in moulded stone surrounds. The Inn and the surviving 2 houses still form a very attractive group on the North approach to Devizes.
