Details
NORTH HILL SX 27 NE 4/84 Glubhole Farmhouse and barn attached on rear II House and attached barn. Probably late C18 or early C19. Stone rubble, rendered and slate hung above ground floor on front and partly slate hung on rear. Rag slate roof with hipped ends and gable end to attached barn on rear. Rendered end stacks and side lateral stack to rear right. Plan: Overall 'T' shaped plan. The front range has a two room and cross passage plan with entrance to left of centre, the larger room on right and smaller room on left both heated by end stacks. There is a one-room plan wing which is set slightly off centre to rear and is heated by a side lateral stack. C19 outshuts have been added in the angles formed by the front range and rear wing. In circa early C19 a barn was added to rear of the rear wing; this barn is of overall rectangular plan with shippons on ground floor and loft above. Exterior: Two storeys. Asymmetrical 4-window front. C20 gabled porch to left of centre with C19 inner door. All C19 hornless sashes. Ground floor with 24-pane sash to left and two 16-pane sashes to right of entrance. Four 16-pane sashes on first floor. Barn to rear has wide opening on ground floor with dressed arch flanked by two doors. Wide threshing door above with 20-pane sash to right. Interior: Complete circa late C18 or early C19 fixtures and fittings. Circa late C18 or early C19 dog-leg stair with ramped moulded rail.
