TQ 67 41 BRENCHLEY HIGH STREET, BRENCHLEY (south side) 15/122 Thomas Monkton chest tomb about 21m south east of the chancel of the Church of All Saints GV II
Chest tomb. Late C18. Portland stone. Rectangular chest on 2 steps and a moulded plinth with a moulded oversailing lid and reeded corner pilasters. oval panels to each end, roundels in relief on each side with festoons, one with an inscription commemorating Thomas Monckton, died 1757.
A high quality chest tomb in an outstanding churchyard.
