Bandstand in

II

Bandstand. 1884, restored c1994. Built by Mr Joseph Brearley. Ashlar and rock-faced stone with ashlar dressings and timber with Welsh slate roofs. Large octofoil base with chamfered plinth and low stone balustrade with curved handrail, linking 2 square stone piers topped with iron urns. Octagonal battered rock-faced plinth with 5 stone steps and ashlar coping, supports octagonal bandstand with 8 wooden columns supporting octagonal slate roof with cupola topped by iron weather vane. These columns have Japanese style openwork lattice with similar style brackets. The 3 south-west sides have glazing bar screens, over low wooden panel sides.
