GV II
Farmhouse. Early C19. Buff brick in Flemish bond to front (south) elevation, red brick in Flemish bond to sides and rear. Slate roof Front section single-depth, rear section double-depth plan. Front section: 2 storeys, on minimal brick plinth. Modillioned eaves cornice. Hipped roof. Rear buff brick stacks to right and left. Giant brick pilaster with moulded cap to each end of front elevation, clasping corners. Central break with modillioned triangular pediment. Regular 3-window front of recessed twelve-pane sashes with thin glazing bars and no horns. Splayed rubbed brick voussoirs. Venetian shutters to ground-floor windows. Central half-glazed and panelled door up two steps, with rectangular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. Doorcase of engaged Doric columns supporting plain entablature with moulded cornice. East and west return elevations have modillioned eaves cornice which also returns to rear. Giant (red brick) pilaster to north end of each elevation, not clasping corner. Each elevation has one sash per floor, in same style as to front. Rear section: 2 storeys, but lower than front section. Red brick in Flemish bond. Slate roof Casement windows. On W side 4-centred arch gothic window and sashes with glazing bars. Interior: not inspected but understood to have central circular hall with cantilevered staircase.
