2. Dated 1894. Neo early Georgian. 3 storeys red brick over modern ground floor. Stone frieze with heavy floral swags. Stone cornice and parapet, panelled with 4 piers crowned by banded spiked ball finials. The centre panel has a small pediment. Frieze below 2nd and 1st floor stone sill courses. 4 windows, 2 light transomed casements, in architrave surrounds, shouldered on 2nd floor, but not on 1st floor where each has a cornice on carved scroll brackets. Ground floor modern shop front but retains flanking banded piers with foliate capitals. Heavy brackets to cornice over. Important position in Market Place and in relation to neighbouring buildings.
Nos 29 to 42 (consec) and The Market Hall form a group.
