Details

MALLING ROAD TQ 75 SW TESTON (East Side) 2/255 Becketts Croft GV II House. Early C18, with late C19 alterations. Dark red brick in Flemish bond, with lighter red brick dressings and "chainage". Chequered red and grey brick to left gable end. Plain tile roof. 2 storeys and attic, on chamfered brick plinth. Moulded wooden eaves cornice with plain modillions. Hipped roof. 2 rear stacks. 2 flat-roofed dormers. Regular 5-window front of slightly recessed sashes, spaced 2:1:2 with wavy rubbed brick heads. Sunk rubbed brick panels between ground and first floor windows. 2 left-hand ground-floor windows with depressed ogee rubbed brick heads. Late C19 bay window to right. Central half-glazed door with rectangular top light under open gabled porch. Short rear return wing to left with chequered brick ground floor, weatherboarded first floor and hipped plain tile roof. Short red brick rear wing to right. Interior not inspected.
