1/44 Brough House Farmhouse
G.V. II
Farmhouse, early C18; extended mid/late C18; raised c.1800. Brick, in English garden wall bond; Flemish bond to extension. Welsh slate roof. 2 storeys. Garden front (south) has tall blocked opening on ground and first floors. Mid C20 casement inserted to left on first floor. Left extension: 2 windows. Central doorway up 3 stone steps with mid C20 timber porch and door. Early C19 16-pane sashes with keystones. Single-storey mid C19 canted bay to right has 16-pane sashes and dentil cornice. Stone ridge and gable copings with moulded kneelers; end stacks with stone cornices. Boarded garret light in left return. Horizontal sashes with glazing bars to rear. Interior retains panelled window shutters, and C18 dado rail with Vitruvian Scroll moulding in first-floor bedroom of extension. Farm building adjoining south side is not of interest.
