II

School, and school house now nursery school, and house, early/mid C19, with slightly later rear and right extensions. Dressed sandstone. Steeply- pitched Welsh slate roof with stone ridge and gable copings and stone ridge stack at left end of school. Single-storey school of 5 bays. Hollow- chamfered cross windows. Slightly projecting, extruded, gabled porch in angle of school and house, with Tudor-arched doorway and diagonally- boarded door on ornamental iron hinges. Stone fleuron finial to gable. Small extension at right end. House adjoining left, forms projecting gabled cross wing. 2 storeys, one bay. Entered from school porch and rear. Hollow- chamfered cross window on ground floor, mullioned window on first floor, with sashes and hoodmoulds. String course between floors and at eaves of left return which has similar windows in its left end. Similar, slightly lower, 2-storey rear extension to house and lower single-storey rear extensions to school. School has Queen-post roof trusses with arched braces.
