KEEVIL MAIN STREET ST 95 NW (south side) 7/138 Nos 12 and 13 11.9.68 24.7.69 GV II

Pair of cottages. C15, altered C16. Cruck-built timber-frame with brick nogging, thatched roof with grouped axial brick stack. Baffle entry, 4-bay. Two-storey, 3-window. Central ribbed C20 door to No 12 in gabled porch, two 3-light casements to right, 3- light- casement to left. First floor has two 2-light and one single-light casement, added lateral brick stack to right. Left return has 5-panelled early C19 door to No 13 in gabled porch, 3- light casement to right and two single-light casements to first floor, full crucks exposed. 1930s extension to rear of No 13. Rear of No 12 has greenhouse, glazed door and 2-light and single- light casement, two gabled dormers with casements, No 13 has eyebrow dormer. Right return has exposed timber-frame and crucks, single-light and 2-light casements. Interior not accessible at time of survey (December 1986), but has 2-bay former open hall with inserted stack and ceiling with chamfered beams, arch-braced collar truss roof with moulded soffits.
