2. C16 timber-framed house. 2 storeys and attic, 2 windows, tiled roof. The ground floor of the house, which was formerly underbuilt with brick, has recently been restored to its original state using old timbers where possible. The first floor is jettied cut, moulded bressumer. Modern dormer and modern casement windows on both floors. Doorway up 3 steps, doorcase of mid C17 with carved overdoor and egg and dart moulding around the frame. The door has 3 panels in linenfold at the bottom and one large panel with diamond ornamentation above this. The VCH says that the house has Cl6 open fireplaces and timbered roof.
Nos 67 to 70 (consec), Nos 72 to 80 (consec) and Bank Chambers form a group.
