MANSFIELD WOODHOUSE STATION STREET SK 5363 SE (south side) 6/70 Nos. 15, 17, 19 and adjoining outbuild- ings G.V. II House with adjoining cottages and outbuildings. Now also a shop. Early and mid C17, C18 alterations and C19 additions. Coursed squared rubble and brick, partly rendered and colourwashed. Partly timber framed. Steep pitched pantile and concrete tile roofs. Rendered plinth. 3 gable stacks, one external and single ridge stack. 2 storeys plus garret. 1/2/3 bays wide by 5 bays deep. Irregular Z-plan. Street front has to left, door flanked by single shop windows and to right again, another shop window. To right again, shop front with blocked central door flanked by single windows. To right, door and shop window. Above, to left, a casement and 2 Yorkshire sashes. To right, 3 Yorkshire sashes. To right again, C20 flat-roofed addition with door and shop window. West end has off-centre flat roofed rendered brick porch with re-set early C19 panelled door. To right, 2 C20 casements. Adjoining rubble boundary wall with doorway to west and flat stone coping. Above, west gable has 2 small C17 blocked openings. To left, in return angle, C20 casement and squint. To their right, sash, casement, large Yorkshire sash, and a blocked opening. Outbuildings to west have to north, door, and above 3 casements and door. East side has to left, blocked opening. To its right, doorway and 3 windows, all blocked. To right again, door. Above, 2 blocked stone mullioned casements. To right, a smaller similar casement. Beyond, a blocked opening and beyond again, casement in moulded ashlar reveal. Rear elevation has to left, 2 blocked openings. Above, to right, 2 casements. Interior has remains of external rear wall stack. 6 jowled bay posts with moulded span beams. Chamfered span beams, some with ogee stops. Early C17 strutted principal rafter roof, 2 builds, with single and double butt purlins and ridge piece and curved wind braces. Mid C17 principal rafter roof with double purlins and collars. Small plaster cornices. No.19 has on first floor early C18 full height panelled room with moulded beads and cornice. Panelled overmantel with stepped cornices above. Square ashlar fireplace with bolection moulding. Early C19 hob grate with decorative panels and curved back. Mid C17 chamfered ashlar fireplace with ogee stops and early C19 hob grate with curved cheeks. C17 stone mullioned leaded window, blocked. Door made from C16 framed panelling. 4 C17 2 panel doors. C18 3 panel door. C19 stair with turned newels, stick balusters and ramped handrail. No.15 has winder stair and 2 late C18 panelled doors.
