PITCOMBE CP + ST63SE MILL LANE (WEST SIDE) 5/260 The Churchyard Cross, 5 metres South of south porch, Church of Saint Leonard 24.3.61 GV II

Churchyard Cross. Probably C15 with C19 top. Doulting stone. Square base about 2.2 metres wide and 400 mm high, with second plain step about 1.5 metre wide and 250 mm high; circular shaft socket, moulding possibly recut; tapering octagonal shaft, chamfers probably recut, of which top half is C19; Heavy cross at top with monogram IHS and a plain quatrefoil panel incised therein. (Pooley, Old Crosses of Somerset, l877).
