Part of a terrace. C1800 but with C14 side wall to number 1 adjoining the Landgate. Retaining wall is of stone rubble with blocked trefoil windows above 1st floor with round-headed blocked opening with keystone below it and ogee arched opening to plinth. 1st floor has 2 C20 stone mullioned windows. Front is of flemish brick with stone parapet ramped up to left and old tiled roof with 2 brick chimneystack. 2 storeys; 5 windows. Mainly early C19 12-pane cambered sashes, but number 4 has C20 aluminium front opening casement. Ground floor has 12-pane sash to number 3 and number 5 but C20 8 pane shopfronts to numbers 1 and 4. Number 2 has a C20 replacement sash. Numbers 2 and 3 have paired door cases with cornices and pilasters. Number 3 has 4 flush panels. Number 5 has elaborate doorcase with swags to frieze and oval paterae and retains an iron footscraper. 6 panelled door and 4 steps to street.
