Milepost on towpath. c1893. Cast iron. Rectangular plate with inscription: GJC Co LEICSTER 23 MILES. The 'Old' Grand Union Canal of 1810-14 became the Leicester line of the Grand Junction Canal in 1893-4. This milepost is one of a series.
