Details
ST 22 SW KIBBEAR 9/257 No 1 Kibbear Cottages II
Semi-detached cottage. Late medieval, altered C16, C19 and C20. Roughcast over rubble, cob wing, thatched roof, brick stack left gable end. L-plan:2 cell with single storey wing abutting cottage to west (not included in this list). One and a half storeys, 2 light dormer window, ground floor left, 3-light C19 casements and 3-light chamfered mullioned casement to left of semi-circular headed chamfered door frame; single storey wing abutting left, with 3-light unglazed C15 trefoil headed wooden mullioned window in gable end, possibly reset, square headed door and window opening in re-entrant angle. Interior; brick party wall with adjoining cottage, winder stair to left of east gable end fireplace, one joined cruck truss and one collar beam truss with large purlin cut and tie beam also cut. Probably the original house continued west and was rebuilt after a fire.
