Details

The following building shall be added:

NORTH OCKENDON CHURCH LANE TQ 58 SE 940-/14/10002 Farmyard Wall to former North Ockendon Hall GV II

Wall, C16 and C17. Brick, of mixed bonds with some later repairs, and running on a straight lint which is parallel to the east-west axis of the adjoining Church of St Mary Magdalene (q.v.), from the gate to the churchyard on the east to the line of the ancient moat to the west. Roughly 100 metres in length. It closes the south side of the churchyard where it varies in height from one to two metres. To the south, on the farmyard side, the fall in ground level exposes a further one metre of the structure. Here there is an offset base for most of its length. Return alongside moat more altered. Structures built along the south face of this wall are of C19 and C20 date and are of no interest.
