Details
INGLETON MAIN STREET SD 6873-6973 (east side) 14/10 Peartree Cottage - GV II Formerly one house, converted in C19 to 2 cottages, now one house. Mid- to late-C17 with C19 alterations. Slobbered rubble brought to course, stone dressings, stone slate roof. Gable end to street. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Entrance left of centre has C19 plank door. Similar right-hand entrance but with recessed plank door. 3 ground floor windows: mid-C19 with chamfered surround, 2 light flat faced mullioned right-hand former 2-light chamfered, mullion missing, 6 pane sashes and 3 pane fixed lights. 4 upper floor windows: 3 former 2-light chamfered sills lowered and mullions now missing, sashes without glazing bars; mid-Cl9 window sashes with glazing bars. Left-hand gable end, right of centre, and projecting right-hand gable end ridge stacks. Rear contains projecting round stair turret with lean to roof, probably added to existing house in late C17. Interior: stone steps to stair turret.
