II
Farm outbuilding,formerly cowhouse. Late C18, with minor C20 alterations. Coursed squared rubble sandstone, with ashlar dressings,quoins,plain gables, and a Staffordshire blue tiled roof covering. Single storey with overlofts,incorporating rear lean-to offshut on west side,with small loft served by stone stair against west gable. 3 bays,with 3 quoined doorways;one at either end for beasts,and one off-centre as the feed passage entry. Vertically-boarded split doors. 2 overloft taking-in doors,that to east end with quoined surround,the other with a flush stone frame. Wide lean-to against east gable,shallow offshut to rear at west end, out onto rising ground. Loft door,now window to centre bay at rear. Interior with double purlin roof supported by C18 roof trusses. A little- altered late C18 farm building which forms an important element of a farm group with a contemporary farmhouse. Listed for group value.
