2. 1843, William Crawford Stow (founder member of R.I.B.A.). range of 10, 2-storey dwellings designed in a composite Romanesque/Tudor style, and executed in polychrome brickwork (red, white and yellow). Steep roof covered in diamond shaped tiles. Parapet. Four gabled advanced bays, each 3 windows wide, articulate the facade. Central slightly smaller central gable with plaque (inscription illegible). Gables contain oculi, each having 3 planes of polychromed voussoirs. Round-headed windows and doors, also with recessed layers of polychromed voussoirs. Large Tudor-style chimneys flank and emphasise the gables.
