Pair of houses. C1840. built of stock brick in Flemish bond, ground floor and basement stuccoed with incised lines to imitate masonry. Roof concealed by parapet. Three storeys and basement; 2 windows each. Parapet with stone coping and dropped moulded cornice. Band between ground and 1st floors. Recessed pilaster between houses. Second floor windows 6-pane sashes with horns to no37. First floor windows are 12-pane sashes. Ground floor has tripartite sashes without glazing bars but with brackets, horns and cast iron flower guards. End round-headed doorcases with semi-circular fanlights, pilasters and original doors with 2 fielded panels at top and 2 round-headed flush panels below, approached up flight of stone steps. 16-pane sashes to semi-basement. Side elevations have dogtooth cornices. Rear elevation has mainly 16-pane sashes. No 371 has original staircase but without balusters. Round-headed arch to hall. Ground floor room has 6 fielded panelled door and moulded architrave with square paterae. No 373 is reported to have original staircase and 6 panelled doors but fireplaces have been removed.
