GV II
Shelter house. 1900-1, by Gordon and Gunton for Hackney Borough Council. Built to accommodate people having their belongings cleansed. Two-storeys, red brick with stone dressing in an Arts and Crafts style. High, hipped roof with central stack; modern concrete tiles. Mullion and transom windows; arched opening to left and right with decorative iron railings and curved stone hood above. Swollen stone buttresses to either side. Twin gables with blind oeil-de-boeuf motif in stone. Listed for group value with the disinfecting station.
