GV II

Pair of estate cottages. 1841, by Mr Wheeler for Joseph Neeld. Built of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and stack and stone-coped gabled stone slate roofs. Double-depth plan in 2 storeys with 2-window front and entrances in projecting bays set at right angles to either side. Tudor Revival style. Hood moulds over chamfered stone-mullioned windows of 3 lights to front, each front elevation articulated by fine Jacobean-style stack rising between paired gables. Similar one and 2-light windows to side elevations, and chamfered surrounds to shallow-arched entrances. Interior not inspected.
