HINDERCLAY WATTISFIELD ROAD (NORTH TM 07 NW WEST SIDE) 1/55 Pasture Cottage - -- II House. Mid to late C16, altered C19 and C20. Timber frame, plastered. Steeply pitched pantiled roof. 4 bays of a 3 cell cross entry plan, service bay demolished. 2 storeys. Original entrance was to far left, now blocked, a C20 entrance into hall lower bay, a glazed door to right into parlour, 2-light glazing bar casements, ground floor hoodboards, boxed eaves. Axial stack in front of ridge to right of centre between hall and parlour, rebuilt cap. Right end pantiled lean-to outshut. Gable end original and C20 exposed plates and purlins. Interior: 4-centred arched door head to original cross entry, close studding, stop chamfered binding beams and joists, jowled storey posts, a 4-light diamond mullioned window opening, cranked arched braces in walling and to cambered tie beams, clasped purlin roof with arched windbraces.
