Shop and temperance hotel, now shop and offices. Dated 1900, altered C20. Brick with stone and terracotta details, slate roof. 4 storeys with attics, 2 bays. Ground floor: late C20 shop window and fascia. Paired windows to each floor; 1st floor: 3 lights with 2 mullions and transoms, stone lintel; 2nd floor: paired sashes; 3rd floor: smaller sashes with terracotta panels below with letters B with ?M/LT and '1900' in foliate scrolled surrounds; small windows in triangular gable with moulded coping and pointed finials. INTERIOR: not inspected. This building constructed as a non-matching pair with No.58 (qv). Possibly housed the Temperance Hotel listed in the 1901 directory: the 1910 directory shows that No.60 was then used by a butcher and No.62 was the Clifton Temperance Hotel and Restaurant managed by SE Johnson. (Kelly's Directory of Leeds: 1910-).
