House and attached cottage. c1840. Stuccoed brick with gabled plain tile roof with ridge hip to far block at right-angles at rear; large Gault brick stack on north-west flank. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys with attic and cellar; 3-window range. Segmental-headed dormer with 2-light casement. Plain parapet with stone coping and painted moulded stone cornice. 1st floor has 3 sash windows, each with a single vertical glazing bar, with rendered shouldered surround. Ground floor has a linked pair of similar windows with architrave and cornice and linking sill, but with segmental heads. Segmental-headed carriage arch and moulded plinth. Entrance door within alley on flank has moulded hood/cornice on consoles, all of stucco, and 6-flush-panel door with rectangular fanlight and panelled reveals. Rear wing has half-hipped plain tile roof and 12-pane sash windows to attic, 1st and 2nd floors. The flank has one sash window on ground floor. The cottage to the rear is of 2 storeys with slate gabled roof and red/brown brick. The corner to alley is curved with corbelling over. The 1st floor has two 12-pane sash windows. Ground floor has C19 porch with boarded flanks and a C20 two-light casement. INTERIOR: main house has cantilevered open-well staircase with curved soffit, wreathed hardwood handrail, stick balusters and shaped tread ends. Marble fireplace on 1st floor and numerous contemporary doors, simple cornices and architraves.
