TL80NW LANGFORD ROAD, Heybridge 574-1/1/265 (North side) 24/09/71 Stables approx. 10m north-west of The Old Rectory (Formerly Listed as: LANGFORD ROAD, Heybridge Stable to the Old Rectory)
GV II
Stables. Early C19. Red Flemish-bond brick with gabled slate roof. Tall single storey with outshut under catslide roof to east forming L-plan form. Front has roof concealed behind semicircular-profile parapet, with curved stepped parapet in front of outshut. Semicircular-headed main door, with keystone and impost blocks with tooled centre and plain margins. Circular window in centre of elevation with iron compass-point glazing bars. Segmental-headed door opening and 2-light 6-paned segmental-headed window to coachman's room, in lean-to. West elevation has 3 circular windows, one with iron radiating-pattern glazing bars and the others with timber infill reducing to small circular central opening. INTERIOR: contemporary stalls and floor paviours.
