Offices. C15 with C19 alterations. Timber-framed and rendered with plain tile roof. Right-angle plan. Roof is hipped to the front and gabled to rear with large stack off-centre at rear; long 2-storey early C19 rear range with gabled plain tile roof and render. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys; one-window range. Front has plain rendered parapet and painted moulded-timber cornice. 2nd floor has central 2-light plain casement window and is partly false with roof of Nos 13 & 13A (qv) running behind 'screen wall'. 1st floor has central canted bay window with flat top and sashes, the front one of which has central vertical glazing bar. C20 hanging sign on wrought-iron bracket. The ground floor has continuous fascia cornice on 6 simple pilasters with coupled pairs either side of central canted bay window with plate glass with transom; plate-glass window to left of bay with moulded band, possibly remnant of old door opening; present door opening to right of bay with similar band beneath fanlight. Large stack rising out of rear wing near junction with front range. Probably remains of a 3-storey gate tower formerly giving access to rear of complex at Nos 13 & 13A. INTERIOR: 2nd floor reveals exposed timber-framing of 2 unequal bays with unjowled posts, cambered tie beam and widely spaced studs. The south-west wall has curved wall-bracing on inside. 1st floor has some framing exposed showing that north-east part formed part of adjoining building (Nos 13 and 13A). This has heavy-section floor joists without central spine beam and former window in front wall probably with 2 lights and foliated arched heads. This 3-storey structure appears to have been of one build with Nos 13 & 13A, which it matches exactly in depth. To the rear of front block is a c1800 open-well staircase with Chinese Chippendale handrails.
