GV II
House, now hotel. c1850. Brick with stone dressings. Hipped slate roof. Italianate style. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys plus attic. 3 bays, with stone plinth. The outer bays on the ground floor have single-storey canted bay windows which have sashes without glazing bars and cornices on brackets. The central window on the ground floor, and the 1st floor windows, are sashed without glazing bars. The 1st floor windows have stone panels below their sills, above a storey band, and have louvred shutters. The attic is lit by a lead-covered dormer. The eaves project on prominent timber brackets. In the angle between the right-hand return wall and a rear wing there is a porch with curved entablature and 2 Tuscan columns in antis. It is now enclosed by C20 glazing. INTERIOR: not inspected.
