GV II

Cottage or farmhouse. Later C17, remodelled. Coursed squared sandstone rubble with quoins, graduated slate roof with brick chimneys. Single-depth 2-bay end-baffle-entry plan (plus C20 addition to rear). 2 storeys and 2 windows; simple square-headed doorway to the left; two 3-light casement windows on each floor, those at ground floor with stone lintels which have the stools of former stone mullions. Ridge chimney at junction with No 11 to the left (i.e. in line with doorway); end-wall chimney to right (overlapped by gable-wall of No.13 (qv). No.9 adjoins to the left (qv). INTERIOR: housepart in 1st bay has inglenook with peep-window in heck, side settle seat and C19 oven-and-boiler range; 2nd bay formerly axially partitioned but partition removed. Collectively all the buildings in Little Crosby Conservation Area form a valuable group of similar scale but varied dates, materials and style.
