Houses with shops; now shop and offices. Early C19, extended
in mid C19; C20 shopfront. Orange-brown brick in Flemish and
English garden-wall bonds; timber guttering and cornice; slate
roofs with brick stack. Shopfront with round arcaded windows
and glazed doors extends through both fronts.
EXTERIOR: Goodramgate has 4-storey 2-window front to corner
block and 3-storey 3-window range to left: King's Square has
3-window front to corner block and 4-storey 2-window extension
to right. Corner block has 12-pane sashes on first and second
floors of both fronts, those on first floor taller; on third
floor, unequal 9-pane sashes; all have painted stone sills and
flat arches of orange gauged brick. Extension to King's Square
repeats fenestration with arches of common brick. Both parts
have prominent moulded cornice on paired modillions with
fluted bowl rainwater head at left end of Goodramgate front.
3-storey range on Goodramgate has two 16-pane sashes on both
upper floors, and 12-pane sash to right, all with painted
stone sills and cambered arches of orange brick; guttering is
on paired modillions.
