SD3201 BACK LANE, Little Crosby 778-1/5/156 Former farm buildings on N side of 04/07/52 courtyard at Crosby Hall Educational Trust (Formerly Listed as: LITTLE CROSBY Barns and stable block at Crosby Hall & cobbled yard)

Range of former shippons and loose boxes with provender house; now part of Educational Trust. Probably later C18; altered. Coursed sandstone rubble, slate roofs with red ridge tiles. L-plan formed by a long low range with a higher range (the provender house) at its right-hand end and a short south wing at its west end. The provender house has a pair of segmental-arched wagon doorways offset left (with recently inserted wooden screens and doors). The main range continued to the left has 3 square-headed doorways with plain surrounds, a small window to the right of each of these, and an inserted doorway to the right of the first of these. The wing to the left has 2 doorways and a 6-pane window, and a small chimney on the ridge. INTERIOR: not inspected. Forms group with main range of Crosby Hall Educational Trust (former barn and stable range) south side of courtyard (qv).
