Pair of houses; now shops and flats. Early C19 with later alterations and C19 and C20 shopfronts. Buff brick in Flemish bond with timber shopfronts; central brick stacks pierce front and rear roof slopes. No.86 has skylight at rear. EXTERIOR: 3-storey 3-bay front. No.84 has shopfront framed in pilasters with plain cornice between gabled terminal blocks: glazed and panelled shop door and altered side door recessed to right of window beneath segment-arched opening: shop window of plate glass over sunk panel riser. No.86 has shopfront of plain pilasters with sloped fascia between grooved terminal blocks: shop door is glazed and panelled, to right of plate glass shop window over plain riser. At left end is 4-panel upstairs door with overlight. On the first and second floors there are central blind window recesses. No.84 has 16-pane sash window on first floor, squat 1-pane sash on second floor. No.86 has 4-pane sash on first floor, squat 6-pane sash on second floor. All windows and recesses have stone sills and segmental brick arches. INTERIOR: not inspected.
