Farmhouse and adjoining vacant house. Late C17 and mid C18, with C19 and C20 alterations and additions. Coursed rubble limestone, whitewashed to house, with gritstone dressings and stone slate roof to farmhouse, corrugated asbestos to adjoining house. Stone stacks. EXTERIOR: 2 storeys. North front has 2 window house to right, with gabled porch to left and 3-light casement in ashlar surround, 2-light chamfered mullion window and 2-light casement in ashlar surround. Above two 2-light casements in ashlar surrounds. Attached range to left 4 windows. Doorway to right and 2 windows to left, above 3 plain sashes and larger glazing bar sash to right. South front has 3 window house to left, with single storey lean-to addition to left with door flanked by 3-light and single light casements, to right 3-light casement in ashlar surround and beyond similar single light casement. Above two 2-light casements in ashlar surrounds and similar single light casement to right forming part of a shared 2-light mullion window. Attached range to right has 3 windows arranged 2:1 with quoins between. Off-centre doorway in ashlar surround with hood flanked by boarded 2-light windows in ashlar surrounds, beyond to right blocked door and boarded 2-light window in chamfered ashlar surround. Above large central 3-light mullion window with to right a plain sash and to left, between floors, tiny boarded window in chamfered ashlar surround and beyond shared single light casement forming part of a shared 2-light mullion window. INTERIOR: of house has many early features including principal room with fire area and heck post succeeded by stone fireplace with mantle on console brackets and stone shelves to jambs. To extreme left blocked entrance into adjoining range. Door frame within north wall has shaped wooden lintel. Beams to principal room roughly hewn, those to smaller room chamfered with stops. First floor has central room with stone fireplace with massive lintel. East room has plastered firehood and closed roof truss with collar, and saddle to ridge, which has been blocked out at sides to take roof purlins, one at least re-used, and raise roof at eaves level.
