II

School. c1850. Stucco with hipped slate roof. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys with basement and 7 bays. The ground floor and basement have channelled rustication, and the windows have sill bands. The cellar windows have segmental heads and grilles with diagonal ironwork. The windows to the other storeys are glazing bars sashes. The 1st floor windows have architraves with cornices and pulvinated friezes. The 2nd floor windows are recessed and have segmental heads. The ground-floor window towards the right of the central porch is tripartite and projects slightly on corbels. The porch has panelled pilasters, a cornice, and a round-arched outer doorway. The recessed inner doorway has a door with 6 panels and a semicircular overlight with vertical glazing bars. The eaves overhang on deep brackets. Chimneys to right and in front of ridge to each side of central bay. Rear: 1-storey extension in centre of ground floor. Outer bays have 2-storey canted bays with unequal 15-pane sashes on ground floor, 12-pane on first floor. Other windows are 12-pane sashes with cambered heads, segmental arches and sill bands. INTERIOR: not inspected.
