Details
NEW CANAL 1. 1594 (South Side) Nos 35 & 37 SU 1429 NW 3/95 28.2.52. II GV 2. Late C18. 3 storeys plum coloured brick and grey headers. Moulded brick string over 1st floor. Moulded stone cornice and frieze, brick parapet with stone coping. Symmetrical fenestration to upper floors, 5 windows, square on 2nd floor, recessed sashes, glazing bars intact, flat gauged brick arches. The groundfloor had 3 centre windows and flanking doors but has been altered to neo-Georgian shop front with projecting centre windows frieze and cornice carried over Doric columned porches. The doors remain each end, 6 panels semi-circular fanlights radiating and wreathed leaded pattern stucco reveals. Interior has 2 good staircases and mantlepiece.
Nos 35 to 39 (odd) form a group.
