Details

SS 62 NW CHITTLEHAMPTON HIGH STREET (north side), 1/140 Chittlehamton 20.2.67 Corner Cottage (formerly listed as shop and house premises occuped - by Miss D Mules) GV II House. Essentially late C18 but possibly earlier fabric concealed, with C20 alterations. Stone rubble and rendered cob to upper storey. Asbestos slate roof, hipped at right end. Brick stack set back from the ridge to rear left end and tall brick ridge stack. Plan: L-shaped on plan with former shop facing the Square on right side of entrance passage and 2 narrower rooms to left. Exterior: 2 storeys. Facade to Square has two 12-paned sashes above shallow bay window with 6 large panes and C20 window to right. Etnrance front to High Street has semi-circular arched sash window with intersecting glazing bars above round-arched stone doorway with blind fanlight and door with 2 glazed upper panels and 3 panelled base. C20 window on each floor to right, and 4 over 5 paned sash to left with 12 paned sash above small 6 paned window at left end. Interior: not inspected.
