WALLASEY, PROSPECT VALE, Nos 4-6

GV II

Pair of houses. Late C19. Rendered stone; slate roof. Back-to-back on plan; 2 storeys. End stacks with moulded caps. Regular 3-window fronts to both Nos 4 and 6; No 4 has casements, No 6 sashes, otherwise identical. Cornice and sill bands, quoining all picked out in black; windows under slightly cambered lintels; the window to the left of the centre door larger to accommodate tripartite sash (replaced to No 4). All openings in slightly raised surrounds. End walls with painted string courses. Single (as opposed to terraced) back-to-back cottages are rare; Nos 4-6 form an attractive group with Nos 8-10 and 12-14.
