SOUTH CADBURY CP CHURCH HILL (East side) ST62SW SUTTON MONTIS 7/153 Barns about 15 m north-west of Parsonage Farmhouse 24.3.61

GV II Barns. Probably C18, with parts on an older foundation. Local grey lias stone cut and squared; plain clay tile half-hipped roof. Eleven bays of collar-trussed roof with 2 purlins each slope: in two sections at an angle to each other. with throughway to centre bays having early boarded doors and timber-framed chamfer-mullioned windows in the side halls, and at high level timber triangular partition with 10 apertures for pigeons. Loft door on south gable, west walls plain save for one simple doorway: on East side three segmental brick lined arches and gable loft: tall doors in projecting porch towards north end. Considerable group value with Parsonage Farmhouse (qv) and the Church of the Holy Trinity opposite (qv).
