Shop and offices. c1820, with later C19 shopfronts;
Skeldergate front rebuilt 1892. Bridge Street front of mottled
red brick in Flemish bond, with timber dentil and modillion
eaves cornice and slate hipped roof; Skeldergate front of red
brick in English garden wall bond, banded with blue glazed
brick.
EXTERIOR: Bridge Street has 3-storey 1-window front, with
3-storey canted corner bay; 3-storey 1-window front to
Skeldergate. Shopfront of grooved pilasters, plain fascia
between grooved bulbous consoles, and moulded cornice: glazed
shop door recessed between plate glass windows with small-pane
transom lights, over painted tiled risers. Canted corner
window beneath curved fascia. Shopfront continuing on
Skeldergate has slender fluted pilasters, plain fascia between
fluted brackets, and dentil cornice. Plate glass window to
left of 6-panel door with tall small-pane overlight. Bridge
Street front has 4-pane sashes with painted stone sills and
flat arches of gauged brick on first and second floors.
