House. 1911, to the designs of Evelyn Simmons for himself. Brick in English bond with hipped roof of tile. Two storeys with dormer. Three-window range, bilaterally symmetrical about entrance which has door of authentic design set under a semicircular hood in Georgian manner. Two and three light windows to either side joined by panel, that to right incised with the words 'Far End Wyldes Close' in a decorative script of the period. relieving arch to centre, first-floor window; four-light window to either side. Pediment to centre range of raking cornice only, continues across the block as part of entablature. Interior:" entrance hall of two groin vaulted bays with stair of authentic design. Many cornices and other modest Idecorative details of an original design. Original plan intact. The design inspired by Georgian precedents freely interpreted to good effect. Simmons designed several Georgian revival houses in the Suburb. The three houses in Wyldes Close, Far End, Gates House and Wyldes Close Corner, form a group.
