Pair of houses. 1908-09. Geoffrey Lucas. Brick in English
bond, painted except for surround to canted bay No.25 and its entrance; spandrels of bays and oversailing gable heads
painted pebble dash with quoin-like recessed edging. Hipped roofs of tile with swept and boxed eaves; angled brick stacks to gableted ends. Two storeys. Four-window range to the block. Bilaterally symmetrical elevation in which the features are composed not just across the front, but in depth: the line of the outshut roofs to outer ranges continue the line of the oversailing gable heads to each full-height bay; the rear hipped wing repeats the line of the main roof. Entrances paired at the party wall, each with one sidelight and set under hipped porch; pair of small casements to first floor flanking party wall just off axis of entrances. Outer ranges project; on the face of each a canted bay terminating in gable head. Casement windows of an original design. The first unit
in a Lucas-designed group comprising Nos. 25-45 odd (q.v.) Willifield Way; the gable-headed, oversailing dormer and
canted bay motif is repeated in most of the units.
