TQ7668NW PROSPECT ROW, Brompton 686-1/5/52 (East side) 21/12/73 No.19 (Formerly Listed as: PROSPECT ROW, Brompton Nos.2-20 (Consecutive))
GV II
House. Mid C18. Flemish bond brick, brick party wall stack and interlocking tile roof, hipped to the left. PLAN: double-depth. EXTERIOR: 3 storeys and basement; 2-window range. A parapeted front with a thin brick cornice, the windows set to the right, and left-hand doorway with a plain surround and 6-panel door, the head altered mid C20. Rubbed brick segmental arches to 6/6-pane and second floor 3/3-pane sashes in recessed frames. INTERIOR: not inspected. HISTORY: matching windows and continuous brickwork with No.20 (qv), dated 1756. Prospect Row was begun around 1705 and completed by 1756. Part of a varied terrace of early-mid Georgian houses (qqv). (MacDougall P: The Chatham Dockyard Story: Rainham: 1987-: 66).
