2. Early to mid C19 row of shops and houses. 3 storeys red brick, the ground floor of No 44 stuccoed. Frieze, moulded eaves bed, low pitch gable end slate roof, 2 windows each on upper floors, recessed sashes, glazing bars intact block sills flat gauged arches. On ground continuous group of shop fronts up to No 42 with Tuscan pilaster frames, frieze and moulded cornice, Shop windows and entrances mostly altered but No 36 retains window of 8 large. panes with panelled risers flanked by shop and house door, the latter of 4 panels, rectangular fanlights. The ground floor of No 44 has one sash window as on upper floors, altered door but with marginal glazing to fanlight.

Nos 36 to 44 form a group.
