Gate posts. Circa 1846. Local mudstone ashlar. Pair of contemporary gate posts
but each is deliberately slightly different for asymmetry. The right (western) is
the more ornate. It has a gabled head with fleur-de-lys ridge and front has a low
pilaster on inside edge with gabled top projecting as far as chamfered plinth.
The left (eastern) gate post has plain gabled head and chamfered plinth. They
now include C20 cast iron double gates with alternate rails only to the lockrail.
Rails have simple fleur-de-lys tops rivetted on.
Included for group value.
