Stable block to south-east (right hand) of Castle Hill House SU 8347 SE 1/24B

2. C18. 1 storey and attic. Old tile half-hipped roof. Fine brick front; toothed brick eaves. Projecting pedimented bay to right hand of centre; in tympanum, circular rubbed brick lunette with small loaded window in reveals. On ground floor below, round-headed doorway with rubbed brick voussoirs flanked by tall round-headed lights; semi-circular fanlight with radiating tracery; half glazed door. Formerly, similar doorways to both right hand and left hand; now only a 3-panelled door to the left hand remains. To the left hand again, segmental headed transomed and mullioned casement with leaded lights; segmental headed modern casement over. To left hand again, doorway with loft door over. Then a single storey structure with hipped tile roof. Modern garage door at west end on ground floor. Listed on account of its fine brickwork and on account of its group value with Castle Hill House, with the stable yard wall, and with buildings to the south-west.
All the listed buildings in Castle Street (East Side) form a group.
