SUTTON BONINGTON STATION ROAD SK 52 NW (south side) 4/112 The Cedars and Sutton Fields House II House, now 2 houses. 1875. Rock-face ashlar with ashlar dressings. Slate roof with decorative ridge. Garden/south front. Decorative eaves band to all but the gabled bays. Decorative parapet. 2 ridge and 2 lateral ashlar stacks. Set on a plinth. First floor bands. 2 storeys plus cellar, 10 bays. the single bays fourth from the right and left slightly project and are gabled. The outer 2 bays on each side project, are gabled and are 2 storeys plus garret, with diagonal buttresses. Rising over the buttresses and supported on decorative corbels are single small mock turrets with decorative capitals and conical pinnacles over a decorated band. Cellar with 6 pairs of pointed arched openings. 2 central pointed arched ashlar openings each with single Caernarvon arched doorway and trefoil arched fixed light over. Either side are single tripartite sashes each sash being Caernarvon arched and flanked by single colonnettes with decorative capitals. Over is a single shaped ashlar panel containing single trefoil fixed light over each outer sash and 3 trefoil fixed ights over the single central sash, the window on the right lacking trefoils and now with single casement. Shaped hood moulds and decorative label stops over. Further left and right are single Caernarvon arched sashes with single trefoil arched fixed lights over. In the outer 4 bays are single Caernarvon arched sashes flanked by single colonnettes with decorative capitals each with single arched ashlar panel over containing single arched fixed light. All openings, apart from those with hood moulds have polychromatic flush ashlar arches over. Above are 2 Caernarvon arched sashes. Either side are single tripartite sashes, each sash flanked by a single colonnette with decorative capital. The single central sash with single trefoil fixed ight over and the single outer sashes with single quatrefoil fixed lights over. The right window lacking trefoil and now with single casement. Shaped hood moulds and decorative label stops. To right and left are similar single Caernarvon arched sashes. In the outer 4 bays are single Caernarvon arched sashes flanked by single colonnettes with single ogee arched ashlar panels over each containing single small trefoil, spandrels with foliate and quatrefoil decoration. Pointed segmental arched hood moulds with decorative label stops and single human head finials. Each gable apex with single Caernarvon arched sash flanked by single similar colonnettes set into single segmental arched panels with hood moulds and decorative label stops. Following the line of each gable is a decorative band forming a decorated segmental arch over each hood mould, the apex of each decorated with diaper. The right/east wall with plaque inscribed "W.T. 1875". Rear of Sutton Fields House with diagonal buttressed gabled porch. The decorated arched entrance supported each side on 2 colonnettes. Further decoration to the gable apex. Inner moulded arched doorway flanked by single colonnettes with foliate decorated capitals.
