Restored late C18 front to older timber-framed core. 2 storeys and attic.
Red brick upper part with small wood frieze and delicate cornice on pairs of
cut brackets. Brick parapet with stone coping. Hipped old tile roof. 2 dormers.
2 3-light windows flanking central blocked window on 1st floor. 3 flat bow
windows, each 7 panes wide x 4 on ground floor with 2 doors between, the left
hand (Number 6) half-glazed, the right hand double 6-panel, each with
oval panel over. Carved fan ornament in corners. The doors and bow windows
under continuous entablature (curved with bows) supported on carved double
scroll brackets flanking doors. The 2 windows to left hand and doorways mainly
original. The right hand window a modern reproduction. Interior floor level
much below the pavement.

Nos 1 to 9 (consec) (including No 1A), and Nos 1 to 6 Town Hall Buildings (The
Borough), Nos 1 and 77 Castle Street, the listed buildings from Nos 108 to
122 (consec) West Street, all form a group.
